Afrimat Limited is a mining company and provider of construction materials and industrial minerals to the construction, infrastructure, building and civil markets in South Africa (particularly in Gauteng, the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, the Eastern Cape, the Northern Cape, Mpumalanga, the Free State and Limpopo) and Mozambique. The company has 5 main divisions, namely: Readymix, Contracting International, Concrete Products, Mining & Aggregates and Industrial Minerals.
The group service projects of various scales – from small-scale private sector contracts, to large-scale construction and infrastructure projects for parastatals and state-owned enterprises. Afrimat’s main mission is to operate opencast mines, provide customers with contracting services and to add value via mined products.

ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & SERVICE CONTRACT
The Afrimat bursary is for students pursuing their studies towards becoming a Surveyor or Geologist, particularly one of the following qualifications:
- Mine Surveying (National Diploma)
- Geology (BSc)
Once students have completed their Engineering qualification, they may be required to work for Afrimat. The length of employment/ service contract, will be equal to that of the bursary duration.
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted – if you have not received any feedback by 6 April 2018 at the latest, regard your application as unsuccessful.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric
- Studying towards one of the aforementioned qualifications
- In your second year of study
- Studying at a recognised South African tertiary institution
- Medically fit (in order to work on mines according to the Occupational Health & Safety Act)
- In possession of a valid drivers licence
