ABOUT THE COMPANY – CONCOR

Concor Holdings was founded in 1948 by 4 founding members, however, the firms history dates back to 1902. The South African construction company, owned by Murray and Roberts Holdings Ltd, is involved in civil engineering; mining; road and building projects across Southern Africa.

The firms business units include: Concor Developments; Concor Buildings; Concor Infrastructure; Concor Power; Concor Plant and Concor Opencast Mining.

The company employs over 3400 staff members and has its main delivery centres within South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. Concor Construction has been involved in numerous large projects across the country, including the Huguenot Tunnel; Hugo’s River Viaduct; Bloukrans Bridge; the Ingula power station reservoir; Menlyn Shopping Centre; Carlton Centre; Melrose Arch and the Absa Towers.
ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & COVERAGE VALUE

Each year, Concor provides financial assistance (by way of bursary awards) to students pursuing their studies within the Engineering, Construction and Built Environment sector.

Bursaries will be awarded within the following fields of study (Degree/ National Diploma):

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Quantity Surveying
  • Building Management
  • Construction Management
  • Land Surveying

 

Please note that bursaries are only for students in their 2nd year of study and onward – i.e. no 1st year students should apply.

The bursary award will provide full coverage of students tuition fees.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Under the age of 30 years
  • Completed Matric
  • Studying full time towards a qualification within one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Completed your first year of study
  • Studying at a recognised University or University of Technology in South Africa
  • NOT currently in receipt of any other bursary awards

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

  • ID document (certified copy of)
  • Latest tertiary academic record – 2017 final results (certified copy of)
  • Recent colour photograph (head and shoulders)
