Statistics

OVERVIEW

Statistics is in many ways an offshoot of the mathematical field of probability and requires a strong background in maths for those considering this subject. It exposes learners to data collection, organization, analysis, interpretation and presentation and concludes with identifiable trends and changes. Statistics shares much in common with social sciences subjects like economics, sociology and accounting and finance in which statistical methods play a key role.

SPECIALISATION

Statistical Computing
Statistical computing exposes students to learning how to use computer programs in data analysis and understand how they work. improvement.
Game Theory
Game theory or  Decision theory focuses on analysing, understanding and predicting behaviour, through the study of different types of game. Game theory features in the fields of economics, politics, sociology, psychology and biology.
Statistical Mechanics
Statistical mechanics exposes learners on the use of probability theory to understand heat energy and its relation to other forms of energy at a high-level scale of physical systems.
