About The Organization
The Agricultural Sector Education And Training Academy (AgriSETA) is a South African organization that helps young people get education and skills for jobs in agriculture. It works with colleges, universities and employers to support learning and training in farming and agriculture related areas. AgriSETA wants to grow a skilled workforce so South Africa’s agriculture sector can thrive. It also supports other development programmes in the agricultural sector.
About The Bursary Programme
The AgriSETA Bursary Programme offers financial support to students who want to study agricultural related qualifications at recognized tertiary institutions. The bursary helps cover tuition fees, textbooks, and sometimes other study costs depending on the qualification and funding available each year.
Eligibility Requirements – Who Qualifies
To qualify for the AgriSETA bursary, you generally must meet the following:
✔ Be a South African citizen with a valid ID.
✔ Have completed Matric (Grade 12).
✔ Be studying full-time or part-time towards an agriculture-related diploma, degree or higher qualification at an accredited college or university.
✔ Not already funded by another bursary from SETAs, NSFAS, government or other funders.
✔ Be unemploye at the time of application.
✔ Show a clear academic interest in agriculture studies.

• Agricultural Economics & Management
• Agronomy and Vet Sciences
• Environmental / Food Technology
• Agricultural Engineering

Who Is Disqualified (Should Not Apply)
❌ Students already receiving funding from another source such as NSFAS or other SETA bursaries.
❌ Applicants studying non-agricultural programme (unless aligned to sector priorities and applied through a levy-paying employer).
❌ Those studying only short courses or certificates not at NQF Level 6 or above.
❌ Applicants outside the application window or with incomplete documentation.
How To Apply For The Bursary
1. Find an accredited AgriSETA training provider or employer that offers the qualification you want to study.
2. Ask them to submit the bursary application on your behalf using AgriSETA’s Discretionary Grant process. Applicants cannot apply directly as individuals.
3. Provide all required documents (ID, Matric certificate, proof of acceptance/registration, etc.).
4. Submit your application when the bursary window opens. Applications are usually submitted online or emailed by the provider. ([Bursaries Africa][1])
