About The Organization

The Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority (INSETA) is a South African organization that helps young people and workers gain skills and qualifications needed for jobs in the insurance and related industries. About The Bursary Programme

The INSETA Bursary Programme (often called the Insurance Sector Student Fund (ISSF)) helps students pay for studies in insurance-related fields. The bursary can cover important education costs so you can focus on your qualification and future career.

📍 What The Bursary Covers

For unemployed students:

* Tuition fees
* Textbooks
* Accommodation
* Meals
* Technological support (e.g., laptop/data)
* Monthly allowance (where applicable)

For employed students:

Tuition fees and book allowance on a sliding scale.

 

📋 Eligibility Requirements – Who Qualifies

You can apply if you meet all of the following:

✔️ You are a South African citizen with a valid ID.
✔️ You have completed Matric (Grade 12) or are in your final year.
✔️ You are unemployed and between 18–35 years old, OR you are currently employed (no age limit).
✔️ You are registered or planning to register at a recognised South African tertiary institution (University, University of Technology, or TVET College).
✔️ You plan to study a qualification related to insurance or the financial services sector (e.g., actuarial science, risk management, accounting, financial planning, information technology related to insurance, business/management).
✔️ You are not already funded by another bursary

 

🚫 Who Should NOT Apply

You should NOT apply if:

❌ You are not a South African citizen.
❌ You are already fully funded by another bursary.
❌ You are not planning to study at a recognized tertiary institution.
❌ Your planned course is not related to the insurance or financial services sector.
