NSFAS is a government-funded scheme under the Department of Higher Education and Training. It aims to support students who cannot afford to pay for higher education.

About The Bursary Programme (What Does The Bursary Cover? ):

The bursary covers tuition fees, registration, accommodation, transport, meals, books, and a personal care allowance.

Eligibility Requirements – Who Qualifies For Funding?:

South African citizens

Grade 9–12 learners planning to study at a public university or TVET college

Total combined household income of R350,000 or less per year

Students with disabilities: household income must be R600,000 or less

Disqualified From Applying – Who Should Not Apply?:

Non-South African citizens

Students already funded by NSFAS

Applicants with a household income above the limit
