About The Organization
The Food and Beverage Manufacturing Industry Sector Education and Training Authority(also called FoodBev SETA) is a South African organization that helps young people get the skills and education needed to work in the food and drinks manufacturing industry. It works with schools, colleges, and universities to make sure quality courses are available and to help learners and students succeed in their careers.
🎓 About The Bursary Programme
The FoodBev SETA bursary programme gives financial support to students so they can study qualifications that help them build skills useful in the food and beverage manufacturing sector. The aim is to develop talent in areas where the industry needs skilled workers.
What does the bursary cover?
✔ Tuition fees (cost of study)
✔ Books and study materials
✔ Some programmes may also help with accommodation or research costs if relevant to your course.
✅ Eligibility Requirements – Who Qualifies For Funding
You can apply if you are:
✔ A South African citizen, permanent resident, or naturalised citizen
✔ Accepted or registered to study at a recognised university or TVET College
✔ Studying a course related to food science, food technology, quality assurance, engineering, commerce or other fields the SETA identifies as critical skills
✔ Able to show financial need (some bursaries give preference to learners needing financial help)
Note: Some bursaries target Masters and PhD students doing research that benefits the food and beverage manufacturing sector.

❌ If you are not a SA citizen or permanent resident
❌ If you already have full funding from another bursary for the same studies
❌ If you are not registered or accepted into a qualifying course at a university or TVET College
